Improving the quality of stay and optimising the flow of visitors
Redesign and conversion of the highest-turnover branch in Zurich main station
BRIGHT AND INVITING
The Migros supermarket branch in Zurich's main railway station is one of the highest-turnover per square metre in Europe. 12,000 to 15,000 people come and go here every day, 365 days a year. As part of the refurbishment, the Migros Cooperative Zurich is relying on Aroma for the new concept, the realisation and the interior fittings. "The biggest challenge was to achieve the maximum for the customers and their quality of stay during the given short renovation period with minimal interventions," says Yves Thommen, Head of Architecture and Creative Director.
VISUALISATIONS
BEFORE THE REBUILD
«The flow of visitors has been greatly optimised. For example, the entrance and exit have been reversed, the take-away has been integrated directly at the entrance, the presentation of the product range has been adapted and a large number of checkouts have been integrated. We are looking forward to welcoming our customers to a freshly designed and bright shopping area.»
